Haiti: All Sunrise Airways flights to/from Port-au-Prince remain suspended until further notice as of March 1 due to surge in gang violence

Sunrise Airways continues indefinite suspension of all flights to/from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, as of March 1. Confirm flights.

Warning

As of March 1, Sunrise Airways (S6) is continuing its suspension of all flights to/from Port-au-Prince's Toussaint Louverture International Airport (PAP) until further notice. The measure went into effect Feb. 29 in response to a recent surge in gang violence affecting Port-au-Prince, including gunfire reportedly striking aircraft on the tarmac at PAP. The carrier has given no indication as to when normal service may resume; residual flight disruptions are possible for several days after Sunrise lifts its suspension.

Other airlines could take similar measures should the surge in violence continue. Flights may be delayed, canceled, or otherwise rescheduled with little to no advance notice.

Reconfirm or reschedule flight reservations if booked to travel via PAP through at least March 10. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Allow additional time to travel to the airport. Consider booking alternative travel arrangements if necessary.
