Unionized tram workers affiliated with the Unite the Union labor group plan to strike from 20:00 March 24-06:00 March 28. The purpose of the work stoppage is to demand increased salaries. Transport for London, London's tram service provider, announced the following strike disruption schedule:
March 24: No disruptions planned.
March 25-27, before 07:00: No service.
March 25-27, 07:00-18:00: Reduced service between Wimbledon and Reeves Corner and between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction/New Addington. No other tram services.
March 25-27, after 18:00: No service.
March 28: Services will start later than normal; however, no specific start time was given.
Additional tram disruptions, including delays and cancellations, are possible outside of the announced disruption times. Picket protests are possible at the Transport for London headquarters on Endeavour Square and at tram stations; heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near any demonstrations that take shape.
Consider alternatives to tram transport during the strike period. Allow additional time if planning on traveling via tram; be mindful of planned service reductions. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
