Australia: Unionized teachers plan strike, protests across Western Australia April 23

The State School Teachers' Union of Western Australia will hold a strike and related protests across Western Australia State on the morning of April 23 to demand higher wages and better working conditions. • Karratha: Protesters will gather at 09:30 at Walgu Park before marching to the Regional Office Park. The protest will end at 10:30.

• Perth: Protesters will gather at Optus Stadium at 08:45, march to Cross Matagarup Bridge, Sailani Ave, and enter Gloucester Park by 10:00. The protest will conclude at 10:50.

Authorities will likely deploy additional security around the march routes and protest locations. Localized transport disruptions are likely. Localized business disruptions are possible. Scuffles between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
