Power outages due to adverse weather conditions are impacting parts of Quebec and Ontario as of early April 4. The outages are reportedly affecting approximately 297,000 customers in Quebec and 49,000 others in Ontario. The areas affected by electricity outages in Quebec include Montreal, Vaudreuil-Soulanges, La Riviere-du-Nord, Argenteuil, Les Pays-d'en-Haut, Papineau, and Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais. In Ontario, customers are also being affected by outages in several areas, including Hastings, Renfrew, and Simcoe.

Transport and business disruptions are likely in affected areas; businesses without backup generators could temporarily suspend operations. Mobile voice and internet service disruptions are possible. The electricity disruptions could also affect ATMs and fueling stations. The blackout could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences; opportunistic criminal activity could increase during the power outage.
