Authorities are investigating an explosion and a related hazmat incident at Bang Lamung Ice Factory, Pattaya, early April 18. Initial reports indicate that a blast occurred within the facility, followed by an ammonia leak. Responders have imposed a mandatory evacuation within a 1 km (0.6 mile) radius of the scene. An unspecified number of individuals reportedly remain trapped inside the factory; however, officials assert that the situation is under control. At least 50 people have been injured in the incident; there have as yet been no reports of fatalities.

Lingering disruptions to transport services are highly likely in the area over the coming hours.
