Weather warnings in place in western UK April 6. Flight disruptions ongoing. Further public transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Adverse weather conditions and travel disruptions continue to impact parts of the western UK on April 6 due to Storm Kathleen, which made landfall in Ireland. The Met Office UK maintains yellow warnings for wind, rain, and snow in the affected areas. For the complete list of warnings, please click here. Authorities will likely issue new alerts or update/rescind existing advisories as conditions change over the coming days. The Met Office weather warnings for the UK's western coast will remain in place through at least 22:00 on April 6. Some 140 flights have been canceled from airports across the west UK, and ferry service between Northern Ireland and Scotland has been disrupted.

Further disruptions to road, train, air, and maritime travel are likely through April 6, with lingering disruptions possibly through at least April 7. Localized business disruptions are probable in low-lying areas; some businesses might not operate at full capacity because of flood damage to facilities, possible evacuations, and some employees' inability to reach work sites.

Monitor local media for weather-related updates and advisories. Confirm all transport reservations before traveling in affected areas. Seek updated information on road conditions before driving or routing shipments through areas affected by severe weather; plan for possible supply chain disruptions throughout the affected areas. Stay away from elevated streams, creeks, and other watercourses that are prone to flash flooding. Do not attempt to navigate flooded roadways. Charge battery-powered devices in the case of prolonged electricity outages.
