UK: Authorities close A12 highway near Ipswich April 21 due to overturned tanker

Authorities have closed the A12 in both directions near Copdock, immediately southwest of Ipswich, on April 21 after a fuel tanker overturned. The A12 has been closed between Junction 32B and Junction 55. Copdock Roundabout, which serves as an interchange with the A14 highway, is also closed to traffic; however, the A14 remains open. It is unclear when the highway will be reopened.

Heightened security is likely to continue in the area in the coming hours. Road travel disruptions and congestion delays are likely, as well as along alternative routes such as London Road and Swan Hill.
