Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, Ecuador, to temporarily suspend operations 02:00-12:00 May 18 for runway maintenance work.
Authorities announced that all flights will be suspended from 02:00-12:00 May 18 at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) so that runway maintenance work can be conducted. While the passenger terminal will remain open during this time, all 41 flights previously scheduled to depart from or arrive at UIO during the suspension have been rescheduled.
Lingering flight disruptions are likely even after operations resume as authorities work to clear the backlog of flights.
Reconfirm flight times before departing for the airport. Allow extra travel time for delayed flights.
