In recent years, tensions in Balochistan Province have escalated as various outlawed Baloch separatist groups have carried out several targeted attacks against security personnel and local and foreign infrastructure development projects and their personnel. Such groups have also targeted individuals perceived to be affiliated with Pakistani security forces or settlers from other regions of Pakistan. The victims were reportedly abducted and subsequently shot at close range after assailants intercepted a bus. These incidents have fueled concerns over security in the area and the potential for further violence against non-local residents.
