Further protests by student groups are likely in Kerala State through early July to denounce the alleged shortage in northern Kerala's higher secondary education seats, or plus-one seats. The Kerala Students Union (KSU), affiliated with the opposition Indian National Congress (INC), has called for a statewide education strike June 25. Other organizations, including the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) and the Students Federation of India (SFI), are also participating in the protests. Recently, related demonstrations have occurred in urban centers such as Kollam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thiruvananthapuram, and Wayanad.
