Pride Month-related marches planned in several cities throughout Latin America June 29-30. Disruptions possible.

Members and supporters of the LGBTQ community plan to participate in marches in multiple cities across Latin America June 29-30 as part of their annual Pride Month celebrations. Marches typically follow major thoroughfares, often passing through public squares and near government buildings. Organizers have confirmed the following events:

Mexico

  • Mexico City: March from Angel de la Independencia to Zocalo, 10:00 June 29

  • Tijuana: Rally at Avenida Revolucion from 14:00. March from Avenida Revolucion and Calle G to Avenida Constitucion and Calle Segunda starting at 17:00 June 29.

Colombia

  • Medellin: March from Centro Administrativo Alpujarra to El Obelisco, starting at 08:00 June 30

  • Bogota: Rally and march from Parque Renacimiento to Plaza de Bolivar, starting at 10:00 June 30

  • Barranquilla: March from Parque Luis Carlos Galan to Plaza de la Paz, starting at 14:00 June 30

Chile

  • Santiago: Rally at Plaza Baquedano (Plaza Italia), 14:00 June 29

  • Vina del Mar: March from Reloj de Flores to Plaza Sucre, 14:00 June 29

Other Countries

  • Guayaquil, Ecuador: March from La Bahia to Parque Centenario to Plaza Colon, starting at 15:00 June 29

  • Panama City, Panama: March from Calle 13 and 12, to Plaza Centenario starting at 12:00 June 29

  • Asuncion, Paraguay: March from Plaza de la Libertad to Centro Comunitario Tekohara, starting at 13:00 June 29

  • Lima, Peru: March and rally from Avenida de la Peruanidad, near Campo de Marte, to Plaza Dos de Mayo and returning to Avenida de la Peruanidad, 15:00 June 29

  • Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia: March from Manzana Uno to Plaza del Estudiante, 18:00 June 29

Previous similar events have drawn very large numbers of participants, prompting localized transport and business disruptions. While the marches will likely remain largely peaceful, minor isolated skirmishes cannot be ruled out if counterdemonstrators attempt to assemble nearby. Police will likely deploy to monitor and facilitate the events.

Exercise caution around event venues as a precaution. Allow additional travel time to reach destinations near announced march locations; seek alternative routes if necessary. Heed all security and traffic advisories.
