South Africa: Road closures to affect N3 highway in Pietermaritzburg, June 12 /update 4
Officials will close part of the N3 highway in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, 14:30-15:00 June 12 to facilitate a controlled demolition.
The South Africa National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) will temporarily close part of the N3 highway in Pietermaritzburg to conduct roadworks, June 12. The section between the Ashburton and New England Road interchanges will be closed 14:30-15:00 to facilitate a controlled demolition. Nearby roads will also be affected. This is the third of three planned closures following those on May 22 and June 5; no unplanned disruptions were noted during past closures.
Localized transport disruptions and freight delays due to increased congestion are likely to last the duration of the closure, and disruptions could extend beyond the stated time.
