Warning

Weather-related flight delays and cancellations are likely at airports in the Houston, Texas, area through at least late June 5. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground delay program for George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAD) slated to run through 14:00 CDT June 5 due to severe thunderstorms. A ground stop was issued for William Hobby Airport (HOU) until 12:00 CDT June 5. The air traffic control measures could be extended or rescinded on short notice.

The FAA may issue additional ground delay programs or ground stops for airports in the region that are impacted by severe weather over the coming hours. Disruptions could extend for several hours after weather conditions improve as carriers reposition aircraft and work through their passenger backlogs.

Confirm flight reservations if flying via IAH or HOU through at least the evening of June 5. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
