Australia: Unionized aircraft refuelers to stage rolling two-hour strikes at Sydney Airport July 31

Aircraft refuelers affiliated with the Transport Workers' Union (TWU) will stage three two-hour work stoppages at Sydney Airport (SYD) on July 31 to demand higher wages and better working conditions. The planned labor actions will occur 02:00-04:00, 08:30-10:30, and 18:00-20:00. Around 50 refuelers will participate in the strike. Consequent domestic and international flight delays and cancellations are highly likely.

Low-level demonstrations or pickets are possible at the airport during the strike periods. Authorities could monitor any such gatherings as a precaution. Lingering disruptions are possible for several hours after the work stoppages end.
