Officials in the Halifax, Nova Scotia, area have introduced a boil water advisory for parts of the city as of late July 1 after a power outage at a water treatment plant allowed untreated water to enter the system. The impacted areas include parts of downtown, Beaver Bank, Middle and Lower Sackville, Hammonds Plains, Bedford, Timberlea, Spryfield, and Herring Cove. Halifax Water advises customers to boil water for at least one minute before consumption. Authorities have not announced the likely duration of the boil water advisory, although disruptions will likely last at least into July 2.
