Unionized public transport workers cancel 48-hour nationwide strike in Ecuador, originally scheduled for July 16-17.
Members of the National Federation of the Passengers' Public Transport of Ecuador (Federacion Nacional de Transporte Publico de Pasajeros del Ecuador, FENACOTIP) cancelled a 48-hour nationwide strike, that had originally been scheduled for July 16-17. FENACOTIP leaders said that after discussions with its members and government representatives, they have cancelled the planned protest, but informed the union will convene a national assembly, in order to determine future steps to take.
Minimal transport delays are possible early July 16.
