Informational

Civil society groups led by the Ukrainian Union in France plan to demonstrate in central Paris, July 13. The event will commemorate Ukrainian athletes killed in the conflict with Russia. Attendees will gather at the Pantheon and march from 15:30 to Place Saint-Michel, where they will hold a vigil. Organizers predict that over five hundred people will take part in the event.

Authorities will likely deploy heightened security along the march route. Increased security measures and road closures will likely cause localized travel and business disruptions.

Avoid the protest areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in central Paris on July 13. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.

The Ukrainian Union in France claim that more than 450 Ukrainian athletes have died during the conflict with Russia, including four competitors in previous Olympic Games. The Olympic Torch will pass through Paris July 14-15, and the Paris 2024 Games will start on July 26.
