India: Flight disruptions ongoing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai July 8

Flight disruptions ongoing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, India, July 8 due to severe weather.

Warning

Flight disruptions are ongoing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai as of the morning of July 8 due to severe weather. Heavy rainfall has caused waterlogging in many parts of the city and affected access to BOM, including areas near the airport such as Andheri and L&T Business Park. Flooding at Saki Naka Station has also reportedly impacted metro services to the airport on Blue Line 1. IndiGo (6E) officials have announced delays for flights to and from BOM due to related air traffic congestion.

Further flight cancellations and delays are likely over the coming hours. Lingering flight disruptions are possible even after normal operations resume as airlines work to clear flight backlogs.

Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via BOM July 8. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
