Informational

Supporters and members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are participating in a protest march to the Delhi Secretariat in New Delhi as of the afternoon of July 12. The action is to denounce an increase in electricity prices. A few hundred people are attending the protest. Unannounced gatherings and/or marches to or from nearby public squares like Jantar Mantar may occur. Demonstrators could block roadways, including Sachivalaya Road.

A heightened security presence and transport disruptions are likely in the affected area. Police officers may forcibly disperse crowds if they become overly disruptive, posing incidental risks to bystanders.

Avoid the demonstration as a precaution and to minimize travel delays. Allow additional travel time near the gathering site. Heed all official transport and security advisories. Depart the area for a secure, nongovernment building at the first sign of any security disturbance.
