Ireland: Aer Lingus staff extends work-to-rule strike nationwide indefinitely as of July 2 /update 2
Unionized Aer Lingus pilots extend work-to-rule strike across Ireland indefinitely as of July 2. Reconfirm flights.
Unionized pilots employed by Aer Lingus (EI) plan to extend indefinitely an ongoing nationwide work-to-rule strike in Ireland as of July 2. The strike started on June 26 and was set to end on July 2. The labor action is to demand salary increases. The airline has cancelled up to 400 flights at least through July 7 in an effort to minimize the impact of the action.
Flight disruptions are likely through at least July 7. Operating flights may also face some delays. Lingering disruptions are possible after the strike ends as staff work to reposition aircraft and clear passenger backlogs.
Reconfirm flight arrangements and schedules if booked to fly on Aer Lingus or associated airlines. Do not check out of accommodations before reconfirming onward travel.
