UK: Pro-Palestinian activists plan protest march in London July 6

Pro-Palestinian activists plan to stage protest march in London, UK, 12:00-16:30 July 6. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Pro-Palestinian activists affiliated with the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) plan to hold a protest march in London July 6. The action aims to demand that the UK cease arms transfers to Israel amid the Israel-Hamas war. Protest participants will reportedly gather at Russell Square from 12:00. On previous occasions, participants marched to Parliament Square; however, organizers have not yet confirmed the march route and ending point for July 6 as authorities have reportedly not agreed to the demonstration; nonetheless, PSC and affiliated groups will likely proceed. Attendance will likely be high as participants organized bus transfers from some of the UK's major cities. Similar demonstrations held in previous dates have drawn some 100,000 participants.

Heightened security and transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Disruptions are likely at Underground stations near the march's start point, particularly at Russell Square Station. Previous PSC demonstrations have remained largely peaceful; however, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or politically opposed bystanders cannot be ruled out.

Avoid affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in central London. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
