Ecuador: Planned maintenance to affect water supply in multiple areas of Guayaquil, Aug. 31
Planned maintenance to affect water supply in multiple parts of Guayaquil, Ecuador, 03:00-21:00 Aug. 31.
Planned maintenance will affect the water supply in multiple areas of Guayaquil on Aug. 31. The Interagua company will shut down the water supply to 53 neighborhoods between 03:00 and 21:00 to repair an aqueduct in the city's southwest. Some of the affected areas include Cooperativa 13 de Febrero, Abel Gilbert, La Colmena, Lindos Horizontes, Independencia, Isidro Ayora, San Jose, Santa Teresita, Simon Bolivar, Febres Cordero parish, and Renacer.
Commercial disruptions are possible through early Sept. 1, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water for operations. The water outages could extend beyond the estimated restoration time.
If operating in impacted areas, stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Water pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water usage.
