Paraguay: Fishermen block Paraguay river in the Remanso area of Mariano Roque Alonso, Aug. 31

Disruptions along the Paraguay River are likely over the coming hours due to an ongoing protest by around 50 fishermen who have blocked navigation of the river in the Remanso area of Mariano Roque Alonso on the afternoon of Aug. 31. Activists are using boats to block any other craft from passing in the area, located near the Remanso bridge. They are protesting the construction of a private neighborhood and the effects this is having on the river.
