Scheduled water outages to affect parts of Colombo and Gampaha districts, Sri Lanka, 09:00-21:00 Aug. 11. Commercial disruptions possible.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that water outages will impact parts of Colombo and Gampaha districts 09:00-21:00 Aug. 11 due to maintenance works. Affected regions include Peliyagoda, Wattala, Ja-Ela, Katunayaka, Seeduwa town, Kelaniya, Biyagama, Mahara, Dompe, Katana, Minuwangoda and Gampaha local council areas. Officials have advised residents to store water.
Some business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water. Residents typically rely on private water suppliers during water outages.
Confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes.
