Unionized LNER train drivers call off strikes across England and Scotland, UK, on all weekends Aug. 31-Nov. 10.
Unionized London North Eastern Railway (LNER) drivers in England and Scotland, affiliated with the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF), have called off a series of weekend strikes planned for Aug. 31-Sept. 1. Officials announced the decision Aug. 29, following succesful negotiations on working conditions.
Train disruptions, including widespread or complete service cancellations, are averted.
