Informational

Education and social care workers plan to demonstrate in Paris on Sept. 19. Members of the Federation Syndicale Unitaire (FSU) and Syndicat National des Personnels de l'Education et du Social (SNPES-PJJ) labor unions will demand improved working conditions and denounce static staffing levels. Participants will demonstrate at the Bourse de Travail, then at the Tribunal de Paris from 12:00 to 14:00 in Place Louis Lepine. It is possible that several dozen to low hundreds of people may take part in the event.

Authorities will likely deploy heightened security near the demonstration venues. The events may prompt localized transport disruptions, but violence is unlikely.

Avoid affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
