Activists affiliated with the Federation of Agricultural Associations of Magnesia plan to protest at Agiou Nikolaou Square in Volos from 19:00 on Sept. 5. The purpose of the demonstration is to mark the one-year anniversary of severe flooding in the area and demand related compensation, infrastructure repairs, and the installation of anti-flooding projects. It was not immediately clear how many people would participate in the protest.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
