Anti-fascists groups plan to demonstrate in Thessaloniki, from 12:00 Sept. 15. Attendees will gather at the Neapolis Clock, to mark the murder of Pavlos Fyssas in 2013, and to denounce an attack on Sept. 6 allegedly carried out by a group wearing fascist insignias. It is likely that several hundred will take part, based on previous events.
Increased security measures will almost certainly accompany the gathering. Localized travel and business disruptions are likely. While violence is not anticipated, isolated clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all protests. Consider taking alternative routes to circumvent impacted areas. Leave the area immediately at the first sign of any confrontation. Heed instructions of authorities.
