Greece: Delivery drivers to demonstrate in Thessaloniki Sept. 12
Delivery drivers to protest at Arch of Galerius and YMCA in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 18:00 Sept. 12. Motorcade protests to follow.
Delivery drivers plan to conduct two protests and motorized processions in central Thessaloniki Sept. 12. The purpose of the demonstrations is to demand improved working conditions. Participation numbers remain unclear. The following protests are planned:
18:00: Rally at Arch of Galerius (Kamara).
18:30: Rally at YMCA of Thessaloniki (ChANTh).
Afterwards: Two motor processions through central Thessaloniki. Exact routes remain immediately unclear.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration sites and anywhere where the processions travel. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or frustrated motorists cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected areas as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling by vehicle in central Thessaloniki. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
