India: Activists plan march in Sanjauli district of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh State, from 11:00 Sept. 11

Hindu organisations plan to hold a march in the Sanjauli district of Shimla from 11:00 Sept. 11 to denounce the alleged illegal construction of a mosque in the area. Participation is likely to be in the hundreds.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the march route and protest sites. Clashes between police and activists, as well as from rival religious groups, are possible. Previous rallies on Aug. 30 have ended with clashes between rival Hindu and Muslim groups
