Hundreds of residents are blocking traffic along sections of the Hubert Murray Highway near Morobe Block, 9-Mile, Port Moresby, as of Sept. 20. The action began the previous day following unannounced eviction from settlements in the area. Residents claim related clashes resulted in the death of two protesters due to police firing and injuries to at least three others. Activists may call off the action at short notice if ongoing negotiations with officials succeed.
