As of Sept. 18, authorities are still investigating the cause of a passenger train derailment in Dal Josafat station near Paarl, Western Cape Province Sept. 17. Trains along the Northern Line Strand have been suspended between Kraaifontein and Wellington. The incident left around 25 passengers injured.

Additional train travel disruptions are likely in the coming days as authorities clear the track. Increased demand for alternative transport is likely. Localized disruptions are possible while authorities continue their investigation.

Paarl is located approximately 59 km (37 miles) northeast of Cape Town.
