South Africa: Ongoing political protest in Pretoria, Gauteng Province, Sept. 26

Supporters of the Democratic Alliance (DA) political party are protesting near Tshwane House, Pretoria's (Tshwane) municipal building, Gauteng Province, Sept. 26. They are demonstrating in support of their incumbent mayor, who faces a vote of no confidence from opposition parties.

Increased security is likely in central Pretoria, especially near the municipal offices. Localized travel disruptions are possible. There is a low threat of violence; however, the threat will increase should counter-protests materialize, in particular following the vote.
