Security services have reportedly arrested at least 14 members of the CHADEMA opposition party, including their chairman and deputy-chairman, to prevent a planned protest. Chadema supporters had planned to rally against the alleged abduction and killing of some of their members. Additional police forces have been deployed throughout Dar es Salaam since at least Sept. 21. There have been no reports of violence.
