Lawyers plan to protest nationwide Sept. 18 to denounce deteriorating working conditions and increased restrictions in the legal sector. Organizers have announced gatherings outside regional courts across the country from 11:00 and outside the Palais de Justice in Tunis from 12:00. Dozens to a hundred individuals could attend the demonstrations.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest sites, particularly the Palais de Justice, through the afternoon of Sept. 18. Clashes between activists and security forces cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or ignore police orders to disperse.
