UK: Anti-racism activists to protest Reform UK party conference in Birmingham, Sept. 20

Anti-racism activists to protest Reform UK party conference in Birmingham, UK, Sept. 20. Increased security, localized disruptions likely.

Warning

Anti-racism activists, led by the Stand Up To Racism group, plan to demonstrate at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham at 17:00 on Sept. 20. Activists will denounce the Reform UK party conference, which will take place at the same venue from Sept. 20 to 21. Additional gatherings against and in support of the Reform UK party are possible on both conference days.

Heightened security measures, movement restrictions, and localized disruptions are likely around the NEC. Rival demonstrations are possible, and scuffles between demonstrators and police or between supporters of rival political groupings cannot be ruled out.

Avoid all demonstrations as a standard precaution. Monitor local media for updates on related demonstrations. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately leave the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
