UK: Rail disruptions likely in northwestern England Sept. 15
Crew shortage likely to prompt rail disruptions on Northern network in northwestern England, UK, Sept. 15. Delays, cancellations likely.
Rail disruptions are expected to occur on northwestern sections (roughly from Stoke on Trent north to Carlisle) of the Northern rail network in England due to a train crew shortage. National Rail warns that disruptions, including last-minute cancellations, are likely, and advises against travel on the following lines:
Stalybridge - Manchester Victoria
Manchester Piccadilly - Chester
Manchester Piccadilly - Stoke-on-Trent
Rail disruptions are likely in affected areas of the Northern rail network. Delays may continue into the early hours of Sept. 16.
Reconfirm planned travel via northwest areas of the Northern rail network (between Stoke-on-Trent and Carlisle) prior to departure on Sept. 15. Reconsider planned travel via the Stalybridge - Manchester Victory, Manchester Piccadilly - Chester, and Manchester Piccadilly - Stoke-on-Trent lines. Allow additional time for rail travel via affected parts of the Northern rail network.
