Fiji: Scheduled water disruptions to occur in Suva and Nausori Oct. 4-6

Scheduled water outages to affect Suva and Nausori, Fiji, Oct. 4-6. Commercial disruptions possible.

Informational

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has announced that water outages will impact parts of Fiji Oct. 4-6 due to planned maintenance. Approximately 200,000 residents in Suva and Nausori will be affected. Nearby regions may experience partial outages or low water pressure. The WAF has advised residents to store sufficient water for three days and has indicated that water delivery services will be available to address urgent needs.

Some business and public service disruptions are possible, especially for entities that rely on large quantities of municipal water. While residents typically depend on private water suppliers during outages, ongoing fuel shortages could limit availability.

Confirm alternative water supplies for business and other time-sensitive operations. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes.
