France: Activists plan protest in Vertou District of Nantes, Oct. 26

Activists plan to protest in the Vertou District of Nantes, France, through the evening Oct. 26. Heightened security, localized disruptions.

Warning

Activists plan to protest in Place Saint-Martin, Vertou, Nantes, through the evening Oct. 26. Anti-far right campaigners will denounce a meeting of the regional Rassemblement Nationale (RN) political party. Local authorities have banned the demonstration. However, reports indicate that several dozen to low hundreds of activists are gathering. Confrontations between rival political groups are possible following acts of vandalism and graffiti on Oct. 25.

Local authorities will likely deploy additional police and security measures to the protest location. Localized ground travel disruptions are possible, as are confrontations and arrests.

Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site. Heed the instructions of officials. Depart the area immediately in the event of any security disturbance. Avoid all protests.
