Around 900 fuel station operators affiliated with the Pune Petrol Dealers Association have ended a districtwide strike as of Oct. 17 after assurances by government officials. The action began on Oct. 15 to pressure oil companies to address alleged unfair tender terms and theft targeting fuel transporters. Organizers have threatened to hold renewed strikes if authorities fail to fulfill their promises.

Lingering disruptions to fuel supply at refilling stations, as well as public and private transport services, and ground shipping are possible through Oct. 17.
