South Africa: Flight disruptions at East London's King Phalo Airport, Eastern Cape Province, Oct. 22
Poor weather conditions causing flight disruptions at East London's King Phalo Airport, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa, Oct. 22.
Authorities have confirmed that flight delays are affecting East London's King Phalo Airport (ELS), Eastern Cape Province, Oct. 22. The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has explained that these are due to poor weather conditions and regulatory issues. This is the third such incident in recent weeks following similar disruptions on Sept. 12 and Oct. 8.
Flight delays and cancellations will almost certainly continue to affect ELS in the coming hours and possibly through Oct. 23. Residual disruptions are possible even after air traffic resumes as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.
Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via ELS; do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
