US: Authorities close all I-90 lanes between Seattle and Bellevue, Washington, Oct. 12 amid bomb threat

Authorities have temporarily closed Interstate 90 (I-90) westbound at Bellevue Way in Bellevue and eastbound at 76th in Mercer Island as of the afternoon of Oct. 12. The closure comes following a bomb threat at Island Crest Way on Mercer Island. According to reports, police stopped a vehicle, and the driver threw "what appeared to be an explosive device." The police have detained two individuals and stated that there is no threat to the public. However, significant transport disruptions are likely from Lake Sammamish to Seattle.

Ground transport disruptions are likely for the coming hours, even after the scene is cleared and the road reopens.
