Low clouds prompting flight disruptions at San Diego International Airport in San Diego, Calif., US, Oct. 3; confirm flights.

Warning

Flight disruptions are likely at San Diego International Airport (SAN) in San Diego, California, through at least the evening of Oct. 3 due to low clouds impacting the facility. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground delay program for SAN, which is slated to remain in effect until at least 00:59 Oct. 3. Flight departures to SAN were delayed by an average of 191 minutes as of 14:00 Oct. 3. The FAA may extend, rescind, or otherwise modify the ground stop on short notice.

The FAA may also issue additional weather-related ground delay programs and/or ground stops for SAN over the coming hours. Residual disruptions are possible even after weather conditions improve as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.

Confirm flight reservations if scheduled to travel via SAN through Oct. 3. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
