Disruptions likely to continue around Cincinnati, Ohio, US, on Nov. 1, due to the closure of Daniel Carter Beard Bridge following a fire.
Officials have temporarily closed the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, connecting Cincinnati, Ohio, with Newport, Kentucky, early Nov. 1, following a fire. The fire broke out at around 03:30 in a playground on Bicentennial Commons at Sawyer Point, located below the bridge, and it affected the bridge's structure. The fire is under control, but authorities have closed both directions of the bridge, which is part of Interstate Highway 471, and of Pete Rose Way.
There is no estimated time for the reopening of the bridge. Significant ground transport disruptions are likely in the coming hours and days. Traffic along the Ohio River has not been stopped; however it could experience some delays.
