A magnitude-5.8 earthquake occurred south of the Andreanof Islands, Alaska, at around00:56 Nov. 3. The epicenter was about 69 km (43 miles) east-southeast of Adak. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 66 km (41 miles), and light-to-weak shaking was probably felt throughout parts of the Andreanof Islands. There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake, and significant damage is unlikely.
