Warning

Authorities have lifted temporary flight restrictions imposed at Kazan International Airport (KZN), Izhevsk Airport (IJK), and Saratov's Gagarin International Airport (GSV) as of early Dec. 22 following a drone attack targeting Kazan, Tatarstan, the previous day. While the attack caused some material damage to residential buildings in Kazan, there have been no reports of casualties. Officials in Kazan confirmed the cancellation of all mass events in the city through Dec. 22.

Authorities will likely maintain a heightened security posture in Kazan over the short term. Localized road transport disruptions will probably affect any locations subject to increased security measures.

Reconfirm flight reservations if planning to travel via KZN, IJK, or GSV. If incoming drones are reported, immediately take shelter in a secure building, stay away from windows and exterior walls, and follow the instructions of security personnel.
