According to Ukrainian government statements, air strikes targeted cities late Dec. 24-early Dec. 25, including those in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions amid others. Officials have declared widespread power cuts to protect the power infrastructure. Authorities will likely continue with emergency shutdowns of multiple energy generation and transmission facilities, resulting in widespread blackouts.
