US: Amtrak temporarily suspends trains between Philadelphia, Pa. and New York, N.Y. as of early Dec. 22
Amtrak temporarily suspends trains between Philadelphia, Pa. and New York, N.Y. through 12:00 Dec. 22 due to downed overhead power wires.
Amtrak temporarily suspended train services between Penn Station (NYP) in New York, N.Y., and Philadelphia Station (PHL) in Philadephia, Pa., early Dec. 22 due to ongoing repairs. Downed overhead power wires are being cleared off the tracks; Amtrak estimates operations will resume at 12:00. The Atlantic City Rail Line has also warned of train travel suspension in both directions between Cherry Hill Station and 30th Street Station.
Rail transport disruptions will likely continue to affect trains running between NYP and PHL over the coming hours and may extend past the expected completion time. Residual disruptions are possible as Amtrak clears any passenger backlog that materializes.
Reconfirm rail transport reservations and schedules if planning to travel via train through New York and Philadelphia. Consider taking alternative modes of transport for time-sensitive travel. Monitor official transport advisories.
