France: Unionized teachers plan to strike nationwide, Jan. 16

Unionized AESH teachers plan to strike across France, Jan. 16. Associated protests possible.

Informational

Unionized Accompanists of Students with Disabilities teachers (AESH) plan to strike nationwide Jan. 16. The FSU-SNUipp, CGT Education, SNALC, and Sud Education unions are calling for nationwide industrial action to demand improved working conditions for AESH teachers.

Unless averted, the strike may disrupt businesses where parents have to provide emergency childcare. Striking teachers may rally at national and regional education administrative centers, and picket protests are possible at schools nationwide. Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are possible near any protests that may occur.

Avoid all demonstrations as a standard precaution. Check local news sources for up-to-date information on demonstrations; plan for possible localized transport disruptions in town centers.
