Emergency crews are responding to a fire at a commercial building near Yatap Station on Seongnam-daero street in Seongnam City on the evening of Jan. 3. Authorities have deployed 103 firefighters and 41 fire trucks to the scene. The cause of the blaze is unclear. There are no immediate reports of casualties or the fire spreading to other compounds. Reports indicate that there are people trapped in the building.

Authorities will likely maintain an increased security presence near the incident scene over the coming hours. Associated localized transport disruptions are likely. Officials may evacuate additional nearby buildings or suspend localized ground travel and train services at nearby stations as a precaution.
